Spes-viva Health Center (Laba-Lakas, Congo)

What is being done? In 1999, the Munich-based association spes viva eV, in cooperation with the Christian mission station Laba-Lakas in Congo, established a health clinic. With a catchment area the size of Switzerland, the clinic makes an indispensable contribution to healthcare in the region.

What was good? Hirn Herz Hand eV supports the Laba-Lakas health center on a project basis. As part of this project, a container of relief supplies was sent to Laba-Lakas in 2011. Thanks to generous donations from hospitals and businesses, essential medical supplies for the health center were collected. In addition, a solar system was donated, which for the first time provides nighttime lighting in all buildings of the health center and operates a medicine refrigerator.
