What is being done? The "Our House" residential project, now located at Mariahilfplatz, has been welcoming and caring for unaccompanied minor refugees from crisis zones since the early 1990s. The young people usually arrive at "Our House" at around the age of 16 and receive close socio-educational and psychological support there until they turn 21. They also receive intensive support in obtaining a qualifying school leaving certificate or intermediate school leaving certificate within two to three years and then finding an apprenticeship. The goal is for the young people to be socially and economically independent upon leaving "Our House" and to obtain a residence permit.
What was successful? A one-time initiative to support the young people with football jerseys and boots designed by the young people themselves developed into a long-term collaboration. As part of this, the HHH association has undertaken various support measures, such as covering tutoring costs and additional donations in kind (jerseys). Most recently, in December 2023, Christmas gifts were presented to the young people during a visit to a Munich Christmas market.
