What is being done? ClimbAid is a Swiss non-profit organization dedicated to sport for development, using climbing as an intervention tool to bring about positive change in society. Since 2017, ClimbAID has been running a successful sport-for-development project in Lebanon's Beqaa Valley, benefiting more than 400 children and young people from both the local population and the refugee community each year. The project includes a mobile climbing wall (A ROLLING ROCK), a permanent wall (The ARC, also known as Standing Rock), and climbing tours in the surrounding area. ClimbAID's activities are designed to promote resilience and a sense of community among children and young people. In this way, we make an important contribution to improving their mental health and psychosocial well-being.

What was successful? The HHH Association supported the social leave of an H&Z employee who spent a month volunteering for ClimbAid in Lebanon. The HHH Association also funded new bouldering mattresses for "The ARC" to increase the safety of participants. By focusing on various aspects of humanitarian aid, such as promoting mental well-being, strengthening social cohesion, developing basic life skills and social competences, and advocating for social justice and environmental protection, ClimbAID plays a critical role in alleviating suffering and promoting sustainable development in Lebanon.
