What's being done? The Kraxlkollektiv is a Munich-based initiative that aims to share its passion for bouldering with more people. The collective's goal is to build several free, publicly accessible bouldering walls in Munich, thus enhancing unused urban spaces and awakening a passion for the sport in people who previously couldn't afford indoor bouldering or who prefer the fresh air to indoor bouldering. In spring 2021, the USC section of the German Alpine Club (DAV) was persuaded, and thanks to their support, the first wall was built in Obersendling on Sugar Mountain.
What was successful? HHH supported this initiative by providing funding for the "Lolliblock" bouldering wall at the Sugar Mountain cultural center in Obersendling (U3 Machtlfinger Straße). H&Z employees also contributed to its construction. Following the successful project, the Kraxlkollektiv became a group of the Munich & Oberland sections in August 2021, thus gaining better access to further funding.
