Classroom under sail – relief supplies with the Thor Heyerdahl to South America (Cuba)

What does it do? The SS Thor Heyerdahl sails to South America and back every year from October to May the following year with 30 students on board. The students attend school on board and learn about foreign countries and cultures. The KUS curriculum includes ship operations, multi-week stays on land in foreign countries, classes, projects, and internships.

What was good? During the 2014/2015 sailing trip, a Cuban school was visited that needed various electronic equipment, such as laptops, tablets, speakers, printers, and other items like bicycles. The HHH Association helped organize the necessary donations, which were then brought to Cuba by the Thor Heyerdahl and the students.
