What is being done? In 2008, the children's choir project Big Friends on Stage! was launched with the aim of providing socially disadvantaged children with a musical and artistic platform. The renowned music teacher Verena Sarré is the director of Big Friends on Stage!. It is particularly aimed at children between the ages of 7 and 10 with a basic interest in and talent for singing, dancing, and acting. In 2012, another choir was founded at Berg am Laim Primary School, also under the direction of Ms. Sarré. The school has a very high proportion of pupils from an immigrant background, so the choir not only promotes music but also makes an important contribution to integration. Furthermore, the choir offers the pupils, many of whom are children of single parents, the opportunity to experience a true sense of community.
What was good? Since the founding of the children's choir "Big Friends on Stage!", the running costs have been covered by Hirn Herz Hand eV. Additional support was provided in individual school years by the Stiftung Persönlichkeit (Personality Foundation) and the Jens Jeremies Foundation. In 2012, based on the positive experiences at Hasenbergl, Hirn Herz Hand eV helped establish the choir at Berg am Laim Elementary School, for which the association covers the running costs. Furthermore, H&Z Unternehmensberatung regularly enjoyed musical contributions from the choir at Christmas parties and visited Circus Krone with some of its members in 2016.
